| | Jennifer Wood, founder of Eating Disorders, S.O.S., is very
passionate about making a difference and trying to promote inner
beauty and positive action in young people. Having struggled
with Anorexia Nervosa, an eating disorder, while in high school
and college, she now dedicates herself to preventing others from
have to deal with the devastation eating disorders cause. Jennifer received her B.A. in English and Rhetoric from The
University of Illinois. She went on to receive certification as
a Nursing Assistant from the College of DuPage. She has been
trained in the fields of Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral
Science, and Law Enforcement. She is currently a police officer
in Montana, where she primarily works with juveniles in the
school environment. She has had extensive experience teaching
young people. Jennifer started speaking with school groups four years ago, and
since then, she has toured many junior high schools, high
schools, youth groups, and independent clubs, sharing her story.
She has received positive feedback from the students she’s reached.
The positive feedback encouraged her to begin Eating Disorders:
S. O. S. in order to reach as many people as possible. Jennifer is a member of Family Action Council, an advocacy group
dedicated to eating disorders. She has been published in the book,
“Caring by Sharing” and is working on her first novel, “Blizzards
in Heaven”, a memoir of her struggles with her eating disorder. |
